Science: Kid Inventors’ Day: Interview with Einstein’s Daughters

    1. Who are Einstein’s’ Daughters?
    2. How did they qualify to compete in the world championship?
    3. What is each robot judged on?
    4. How did the girls get interested in building a robot?
    5. What does Cookie do? (Summarize the girls’ complicated answer in a sentence.)
    6. What very important things did the girls learn from building their robot and competing? Tell a time when you used brainstorming. Give an example of when you used teamwork.
    7. If you could invent one thing the world doesn’t have yet, what would it be? Why do you think this would be an important thing to invent? ,li> Do you think robots will become popular to help us around the house or at our jobs? Do you like the idea of having a robot to help us? Why or why not?
    Activities
    1. Create an invention: Tell what your invention would be called. Describe the uses of your invention. (What problems would it solve?) Draw a picture or create a model of what your invention would look like. How much would it cost? Who would use your invention? You could put together a booklet with all of your class’s inventions.
    2. Research more about robotics or choose an inventor to research. Write a short piece on the interesting things you learned.
    3. If you discover you are very interested in making a robot, see if you can create a team, and find a mentor to help you make one and follow the directions from the video. Or, research more online.
